Diploma in LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY

Students are rotated through Blood Bank, Haematology, Biochemistry, Parasitology, Microbiology and Histopathology. In Biochemistry, we are using Semi Automatic Analysers, Blood Gas Analysers ,and fully auto analysers. There is facility for assessing various hormones, enzymes, tumour markers and also for Blood Gas Analysis in addition to the routine tests. In Microbiology, all routine cultures, ELISA, tests for Hepatitis, AIDS. T.B. project are undertaken. Our Microbiology Department is a Research centre for Leptospirosis. In Histopathology, we are doing manual methods and automatic methods with machines for processing tissues. In all sections the tutors and professors supervise the students.

Eligibility: A pass in pre- Degree or Plus-Two with biology and have secured at least 50% marks in Biology, Mathematics and English.

SECOND YEAR

 · Biochemistry  · Microbiolog  · Histopathology & Quality Control Programme.

EXAMINATION

Theory examination: First year- in June. Second year- in April.

Second year practical examination- in july.
